So, today we began exploring Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is a walking friendly city. If you stay at a central location, a car is useless and you'll have trouble finding parking. It was decided to forgo the car for the first day so we could explore the city on foot.
After a LATE breakfast, we headed out. As you can see, it was drizzly and cold.
There's really way too much information and pictures for me to post here. If anyone has a question, post it and I'll do my best to answer textually and visually.
Others were lingering at the tower, so I decided to walk on to the Archeological museum (more info).
Along the way...

Offerings to the deceased - Found in tombs.
And finally some sculptures of heads and bodies.

And finally the required mosaic with the appropriate description.
Culturally fulfilled, I went back to the hotel for a late lunch and some rest. Dinner was at a very nice seafood restaurant (7 seas). All the food was excellent, but the fried baby squid was truly outstanding. That's all for now... Stay tuned...
